  • Sounds of My Writings: Justice has no Adjectives

The world has currently been invited to attend a global courtroom of cases against two criminals. Like every trial, the case has to be judged by a team of individuals. The only problem is- is that all the jurors are guilty. Just like 2000 years ago the center of the world was focused on a similar trial. The trial involved two notorious criminals hung on trees with the innocent judge also being accused. The problem of those watching was that those being executed was an enigma of their own hidden secrets. They booed, others cursed, and yet others hurled painful stones. Those within the so-called religious community watched as they hurled insults to the judge they have just convicted, while the entire Roman brigade harnessed their shining swords executing their punishment on both the innocent and guilty. Yet the crowds were drunk cheering on their favorite avatar as if they were in a gladiator spectacle. How do you judge two evils, when the wages of sin is death? How do we judge one another when we are all guilty? While you, and I await the outcome of this imperfect judicial system know that the innocent judge screamed, and breathed his last by saying “Father forgive them for they don’t know what they are doing.” Luke 23:32-34 32 Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. 33 When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals - one on his right, the other on his left. 34 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Prayer

Lord please give us the faith of Noah and his wisdom so that we may continue to believe, and do your work as you designed it in these last hours. For we have given everyone a voice, and altars have been erected throughout every street corner so that your voice could no longer be heard. The hearts of man has truly grown weary, stricken, and hard with unbelief. Strengthen the humble, the innocent, the broken, and the pure - and do not cover your ears to their prayers. For we have truly erected images, and have immortalized smiles throughout every arena. We have forgotten our first love, and have fought for purposes for which only you can avenge. We have exalted our might against your power, and have decided to do things in our own way. How can the blind lead the blind, when your sacred people are stumbling with their “probe cane”? For only You can do something now, for our lamps have run dry without oil. And our light has become like darkness to you. We are sorry Lord. #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Sounds of My Writings: Reprogram

You and I will always be a slave to that which has captivated our hearts, and minds. Give any captive freedom, and he will return to that which has bound him. Give any poor man riches, and he will spend it. Give any addict a taste, and he will grieve for its next fix. Give a pedophilic a child, and he will molest it. Give a gluten a salad, and he will desire the entire salad bar. Give an actor a script, and he will sell you a vision (television). Before ever becoming a servant of the Lord I to was bound by my own traumas, addictions, paradigms, heritage, and my sins. All these things had desired to master me for many years until one day the power of their chains were broken. I was no longer it’s victim, it’s prey, nor it’s a puppet. I was set free of their strongholds and became an advocate of the force which was much greater than they. I became an advocate, and slave of God! Be an abolitionist to sin, let’s reprogram. #godiswatching Genesis 4:6-7 6“Why are you angry,” said the LORD to Cain, “and why has your countenance fallen? 7If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you refuse to do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires you, but you must master it. #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Sounds of My Writings: Don’t lose your Innocence

Like a newborn child comforted and wrapped in the arms of his/her mother. Or, like a couple immersed in the bliss of love. Or, like the smell of freshly cut pastures. Or, like the soul whose sins have been forgiven - is he whose conscience has been washed, and renewed with innocence. It is like something pure and refreshing when righteousness takes residences. When your guilt and your shames have been exposed, and the power of self-condemnation no longer has a grip on your daily affairs. When you see good in everything, and everyone. And, your eyes have not been infected with prejudices. Harmony dwells there, goodness swells in her, and God pours out His blessings upon it. Brothers and sisters don’t surrender your innocence, don’t let go of what is good, hold tight to sound truth and taste of its rewards. God is watching! #godiswatching Psalms 133:1-3 1How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! 2It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. 3It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore. #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Sounds of My Writings: Lawful vs Lawless

Over thousands of years, every civilization that has been erected formed creeds and laws which has helped keep sociological harmony, and the value of life at its core. God himself gave us his sovereign wisdom by designing 10 perfect laws to guard and protect life from its evils. We till this day as humans have struggled with anything that may infringe on our liberties, and any principle that may restrict the use of our indulgences. Just like Adam, we still want to bite the forbidden fruit not knowing that within her there is a poison that will decay our human soul. Even to the modern-day believer the law has become something of the past, and we have navigated our Christianity by what we feel rather by the full counsel of God. Don’t you know that the moment you reject the law, and order you are inviting the lawless spirit! Don’t you know that the law is good! 1 Timothy 1:8-10 8We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. 9We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine 11that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me. #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Sounds of My Writings: We all suffer from Racism

Decades ago I return to complete my college degree in Business and decided I would take a class in one of my favorite topics in multicultural studies. It was a way for the university to address the beauty of difference. The professor had silently taken 15 minutes to write on the “chalkboard” various words with no instructions. While parts of the “chalkboard” were still empty he had asked students to fill in the gaps with any words that came to their minds, and many of us did. Suddenly, he asked for volunteers to participate in an exercise which he would later explain - after you have raised your hand. He then proceeded to use an empty side of this large “chalkboard” to write down different nationalities, and he assigned each volunteer a nationality. He or she was to only use the words that would describe what was in their hearts from the words provided on the “chalkboard” regarding each nationality. No one was to say a word - nor judge anyone for their brutal honesty until the entire exercise was completed. As we continued, the atmosphere became dense, some were agitated, and others were laughing. The exercise had certainly revealed some of our deepest feelings, thoughts, and secrets. In the end, we learned that regardless of how colorblind we think we are the entire class suffered from racism. And, how we reviewed diversity was influenced by many variables. If you, and I are brutally honest we all suffer from some degree racism. #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Sounds of My Writings: Love Will Prevail

Love will prevail, the truth will prevail, goodness will prevail, healing will prevail, humility will prevail, and God will prevail. Don’t allow yourself to be spiraled into darkness and hopelessness. Put oil in your lamps, and be the beacon of hope for Christ. We are not only fighting for justice, but for the eternity of every soul. There is a place and a time when all will be made perfect. Where peace inhabits all who dwell with her. No more tears, no more troubles, no more pain, nor sickness. A place where everyone is colorblind. #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Reflections: This Is How I Fight My Battles

Brothers and sisters as we remain sympathetic towards each other, and grieve over all the injustices plaguing every corner of our communities I encourage you to remain in God’s love. For we know that this is not a war against flesh and blood, but against wickedness reaching the highest, and lowest of places. There is an invisible enemy of every human soul who is laughing at our own destruction, and demise as he is ravaging our families, and our communities. He has manipulated many through deception, blame, and shame. For we have all been created in the image, and likeness of our creator. So, let your light shine and let the Gospel truth, and love defines who we are. For we must be kingdom-minded, and not culturally divided. This is how I fight my battles! #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Sounds of My Writings: The Art of Application

Many years ago as an adolescent I was tasked with a science project to learn the art of sowing and reaping. My elementary school teacher asked that we sow a seed in a pot of soil, and provide for that seed water, and sunlight. She also asked that we document what we had witnessed after 3 weeks. I in turn thought that I was much smarter than everyone else, and decided to transplant my mother's already grown plant to prove my incredible successful “green thumb”. So, I waited a day before the project was due, and preformed this critical surgery. Prior to presenting my results to the whole class, I thought I would just take a nap since my plant was bigger than everyone else’s. But, to my demise, everyone else’s seeds were small but well-rooted, while my large tree trunk was slumped overlaying dead on its side. The moral of my story is never shortcut knowledge. There is much to learn in the art of application that helps us be rooted in our study of our Gospel message. We as the body of Christ must learn that you, and I can never gain the full knowledge of our God until we have engaged in the experience or practice of His Words. Knowledge is more than just words, information, and study. It is the application of the Gospel message that forms the evidence of our faithful knowledge. Faith without works is dead. James 2:14-18 14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Reflections: The Moral Courtroom

Over 2000 years ago in a manipulated courtyard, stood an unjust trial of an innocent man. He stood scourged and bruised for cases brought against him which were all untrue. When the authorities asked the crowds, choose today whom you prefer to be set free? In your righteous judge who is innocent in your eyes? The crowds, the agitators, and those with hidden motives all chanted set the rebel free, we prefer the lawless one! And so, he was released reflecting the moral voice of those who cast their votes. The multitude in that courtyard was drunk in anger and determined that the innocent, the godly, and the pure should be put to death. Today, across the world we have been invited to a global courtroom. What you choose today is a reflection of your heart. You only have two choices, choose Christ or choose the lawless one. God is watching! #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

  • Reflections: Convinced

I am totally convinced that you can fill up a room full of dignitaries with the purest of intentions, and lay their motives down on a table to try to rectify the circumstances plaguing our society. And, In just a matter of weeks when all is addressed things will return to its original state. More than just a racial problem, humanity has a heart problem. We are trying to attain peace without the God of peace. We are trying to attain change, without the power of transformation. We are trying to address moral issues with no moral compass. You can not attain anything in a godless society. We have severed His hands! #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

"Remove everything from a man; his possessions, his ministry, his vocation, his health, his family, and his friends - and then you will know his God. No one can remove your worship!" #andyfernandez #iamministries
