- Reflections: Acknowledge Presence
In the presence of a multitude, it is easy to recognize the beautiful faces, the candid personalities, and the intellect of many. To sit or stand in the assembly and notice the good of people, the accolades of their achievements, and the passion that drives them is commendable. But, there is something that is irreplaceable and necessary for the success of any endeavor, and that is the audience of one. When God recognizes you, and you have recognized God in the privacy of your quiet place, in the hallways of your soul, and in the public square of the multitude - is monumental. Just like we all desire to be recognized at times by our audience, or that at the least have left an impactful print of our presence. So too, does God desire that his creation recognizes him. Acknowledging God will shift and align the trajectory of any cause. Acknowledge His Presence, in your life! #andyfernandez #iamministries
- Reflections: Stay Focused, Stay Purposed
In the wake of everything happening around the world, we can easily become unsettled and alarmed. As tensions are secretly rising it is important to remain focused at your task at hand. World news has it that dark times are imminent, but the Good News tells us that "for God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ." Stay Focused, Stay Purposed #andyfernandez #iamministries
- Reflections: Yesterday is Gone
Many of us are drawn by cycles and habits. We coexist with the common, the usual, and the familiar. Every day the sun rises, the dawn ushers in new mercies and opportunities. It is important that in 2020 we take a spiritual inventory of our behaviors and relationships that do not bear good fruit. This year should be one with intentional purpose so that we may make most with the gift of our time, and investments. Remember, that whatever giant you have tolerated and compromised - is the very giant that will tare you down and stifle your progress. Persevere in spreading the Good News of Christ! Isaiah 43:18-19 “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” #andyfernandez #iamministries
- Reflections: The hour has come
There is an appointed time for everything. The Old Testament patriarchs taught us through holy scriptures that there is a time for everything under the sun. Know that there is a time when heaven aligns with earth, and ushers in divine providence. There is an urgency brewing in the “mist” of the time and air, to keep alert and vigilant. While keeping your New Years' resolutions intact, your goals in place, and performing your duties with excellence do not neglect prayerful vigilance. Be alert and vigilant. Matthew 26:36-41 36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” 37He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” 39Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” 40Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” #andyfernandez #iamministries
- Sounds of My Writings: Essence
Too many times when we pray and often use the name of God, we begin to lose the essence and power of His Name. Like everything else we do repeatedly, if not careful you and I can become habitual creatures even when addressing heaven. Remember, there is a law against using God’s name in vain. If you call upon the name that is above every name, we must reverence it as holy. Just like items in your home, some are meant for special occasions that you treat with high esteem, and yet others are used for common use. When calling on the name of the Lord, understand who you are calling! There is power in His Name! John 14:12-14 12Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father. 13And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries

- Sounds of My Writings: Leave your Mantle On
When swimming in the ocean, and the tides of life sway you back and forth never be tempted to remove the outfit that protects you. The dangers at sea are real, and there are many big and small fish, some dangerous and other pleasing to the eyes that desire your attention. Yes, the ocean is beautiful and vast, and it was put there by God himself. But, in all it’s beauty it is untamable, and at times can be destructive. We all have to visit the ocean to fish and eat, but while enjoying your meal be found wearing the proper attire and/or outfit. Never take off your priestly mantle, for it is your life-saver. John 21:7-9 7Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, “It is the Lord,” he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water. 8The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards. 9When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it and some bread. #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries
- Sounds of My Writings: Opinion Driven
Opinions are wonderful freedom that you and I possess. We exercise it every day, around every corner, in public or in private. We mingle with it in an obscure way. We have full conversations with it, in which it confirms our speculations. It echoes and dictates the way we should relate, and respond to others. It creates a world full of walls, where we are always right and in defense. Being strongly opinionated can win you the battle in relationships but at the cost of losing the war in your friendships. Remember that your perspective about a matter may be full of blind spots, short-sighted, and fogged. Leave the room and allow others the opportunity to prove themselves. We are all faulted. Filter your opinions through the lens of love and truth. Breathe hope into a situation by loosening the knots of opinion. Recognize and lay down your paradigms, your prejudices, your preconceived notions, and allow everyone a chance. Proverbs 12:14-16 14 From the fruit of their lips, people are filled with good things, and the work of their hands brings them reward. 15 The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice. 16 Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult. #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries
- Sounds of My Writings: Keep Moving
Keep pressing, keep moving. Don’t overthink matters, nor freeze your momentum. There are times when things don’t make sense, and they don’t seem as though they are in line with God’s promises. If you stop, you may forfeit your progress and be succumbed by inertia, speculation, and assumption. If you started right, continue right, and finish right! Leave all your antics on the waste side, and do what God has told you to do. He has not changed his mind. Philippians 3:12-14 12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries
- Advice by Pastor Andy Fernandez
Don’t make decisions or any major move based on your emotions. Feelings are a wonderful gift, but dangerous when untamed. Ask the hard questions; its motives, who, what, where, and when? Do your research, receive Godly counsel, pray about it, but never be anxious. Then Be still, and wait on God! #andyfernandez #iamministries
- Sounds of My Writings: You Are Not Alone
Loneliness ails the soul. It is an emotional disease that tells the beautiful, you are ugly. The strong you are weak, the educated, you are dum. It drives the loved, to an unlovely place. And isolates your potential from the many. Don’t live life lonely, even though you may find yourself alone. Be productive, accomplish your dreams, and exercise your God-given potential. There is no time to waste, begin cherishing yourself for you were fearfully designed and made. Psalms 139:13-17 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. 17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries
- Sounds of my Writings: Clear your mind
The past is long gone, you and I can not return to change a matter. But, if you are breathing today, you can make matters better! Like a VHS, DVD, or CD our minds have the unfortunate ability to replay out a scene in our past and repeat it so many times that we become engulfed or paralyzed with no hope on moving forward. Sometimes it takes brut determination to say enough is enough and move forward. Other times we are too weak to make that leap forward. But, as a Good Shepherd, God says to cast your cares and burdens upon me and I will give you rest. Like sheep that need help, we can rest in the hands of a living God who is compassionate and caring. And, a God who desires to anoint (rub) your head with oil so that these reoccurring thoughts and patterns slip away! Break the patterns that disable you and rest your heads in the hands of a gracious and loving God! Psalms 23:5-6 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries
