The full counsel of God teaches us that every man should possess some level of fear. It requires to not fear the world, or what may come upon the world. But fear God! #andyfernandez #iamministries
- Reflection: Self-righteous Is Pride In Disguise
Who is going to claim that they are right in times like this? Who is going to point a finger and say my faith is greater than yours? Some will claim faith, yet others will claim wisdom. But, don’t you know that God provides them both! Why are many exalting themselves, as others are preparing themselves? Don’t you remember that each man must give an account? Guard your soul, guard what Christ has stewarded you to manage but, remain humble through the process. Matthew 23:1-12 1 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them. 5 “Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; 6 they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; 7 they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others. 8 “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. 10 Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. 11 The greatest among you will be your servant. 12 For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted #andyfernandez #iamministries
- Sounds of My Writings: The Whisper of God
In lure of Covid-19, and the effects it’s having throughout the world there is a silent voice that can be heard which is not being broadcast by any media outlet nor emergency briefing. It is the voice of one calling in the wilderness of your heart especially during this period of uncertainty. You have shrugged it off, have been in denial, and have attempted to manage these concerns by keeping yourselves busy. You’ve said “everything will return to normal, life is good, and things are great. For sure our government will find a cure, and our scientist will rectify this problem”. While you and I wait, I encourage you to listen to the whisper of God. Times are changing, things are changing, but God will never change. Seek him, set your heart towards him, and he will answer! 1 Kings 19:11-12 11 The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind, there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came to a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came to a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” #soundsofmywritings #andyfernandez #iamministries

- Sounds of My Writings: Don’t Overthink, Keep Treading
It is easy to practice the ideologies of rhyme and reason (humanism) as we drag our feet through the obstacles of life, or if we are running the summit race of personal achievements or accolades. Being human is easy, it really doesn’t take much to do what everyone else is doing (rat race), or simply going with the flow. But, I remind you that you are more than just a jar of clay molded into society. You are rather a spirit being who has been designed in the image and likeness of God with an eternal purpose and destiny. Everything in this journey of faith does not require that it makes sense in order to believe. Faith is not the substance of things reasoned, but rather the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not YET seen. Don’t abort or shipwreck your faith in God because you don’t understand. Simply believe in the integrity of God’s Word (Jesus) and trust in his perfect integrity. Keep treading! Hebrew 11:1-6 1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for. 3 By faith, we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. 4 By faith, Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith, he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead. 5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.” For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. 6 And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries
- Sounds of My Writings: Empty yourself
Like pouring a bottle of lukewarm water into the vast ocean, or emptying the jars of bitter wine into a vineyard we must learn to empty ourselves of anything that may impede our growth and maturity in Christ. Let’s recognize in ourselves attitudes and behaviors which are self-centered and which stifle the hand of God in the midst of our circumstances. You and I can not have it our way, and God’s way. Let go, and let God! Matthew 16:24-27 24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done. #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries
- Reflections: The audience of One
Stay true to yourself, God is not asking you to copy what others are saying or doing. Set your eyes in the heavens, and your ears sensitive to His voice. This walk is personal, and requires intimacy with the one who loves you, and has made you. You are peculiar and unique, and he loves you just the way you are. Embrace the hands of the Good Shepherd, and he will lead you beside still waters till the end! Psalms 23:1-3 1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries
- Sounds of My Writings: Streams of Gladness
The only thing to combat bad news, fake news or any other news for that matter is to embrace the Good News of Jesus Christ. Submerge your thoughts and the concurring feelings of your heart through the streams of God’s eternal Word. It will bathe you, wash you, restore you, and even transform you if you do not harden your hearts in doubt and unbelief. God continually reigns from His throne and there is a stream that makes glad those who dwell in the presence and city of our God! Wash yourself. Psalms 46:1-11 1God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. 4There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. 5God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at the break of day. 6Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. 7The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. 8Come and see what the Lord has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth. 9He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields d with fire. 10He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” 11The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries
- Reflections: Man in the Mirror
Even though this process our nation has been through has been painstakingly difficult, there is still hope when a nation is willing to return to its founding principles. Principles that are anchored in morality, decency, and respect for God. I yield to and respect the office of the Presidency. For I am a man under authority, and therefore I respect authority regardless of my personal opinions and preferences. Anyone who defies authority will eventually become diseased and infected by rebellion. Check yourself. John 19:7-11 7The Jewish leaders insisted, “We have a law, and according to that law he must die because he claimed to be the Son of God.” 8When Pilate heard this, he was even more afraid, 9and he went back inside the palace. “Where do you come from?” he asked Jesus, but Jesus gave him no answer. 10“Do you refuse to speak to me?” Pilate said. “Don’t you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you?” 11Jesus answered, “You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin.” #soundsofmywritings #oneminutewithgod #andyfernandez #iamministries
