God’s promises are not predicated on your talents, gifts, strengths, knowledge, or abilities. It is predicated on his integrity, love, kindness, goodness, and sovereign plan. You do not need to assist God, you just need to obey him.

To many of us feel like God is taking to long to get things done. At times we will take matters into our own hands and become hasty at fulfilling God’s promises. But, scripture assures us that it is not by might, nor by power but by the Spirit of the living God that he gets things done.

Build a relationship with the Holy Spirit, remain humble and sensitive to him. He will order your footsteps as you obey. Obedience is better than sacrifice. He is building character!

Deuteronomy 8:1-6

1 Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land the Lord promised on oath to your ancestors.

2 Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. 3 He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.

4 Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years. 5 Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.6 Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him and revering him.

There is a spiritual bruise that blemishes the heart meant to love and rejoice. It speaks as though it has authority reminding even the strong, and the righteous of their humanity and weakness. Like filthy rags it knows the secrets of its past and tries to cover, like a veil, it’s conscience. It needs to be wiped cleaned and wash in the precious blood of the Lamb of God, or it will become ineffective and unproductive to love again.

It pains every day, the one who committed the act and paralysis the vision of the future. How could God use such a person it says. What would those who love me think if they only were to know my fallen nature? Thank God for a heart and conscience that is sensitive to the disciplines of God. Who grieves over sin and desires to be freed from the chains of shame. For the Almighty God, in his compassions will forgive and you shall rejoice again.

Allow God to clean your conscience and remove the guilt, shame, and power of condemnation. For God’s mercy endures forever, you shall not be ashamed anymore.

Isaiah 54:4-8

4 “Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood.

5 For your Maker is your husband the Lord Almighty is his name the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth. 6 The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit a wife who married young, only to be rejected,” says your God. 7 “For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion, I will bring you back.

8 In a surge of anger, I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness, I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord your Redeemer.
