There is an appointed time for everything. The Old Testament patriarchs taught us through holy scriptures that there is a time for everything under the sun. Know that there is a time when heaven aligns with earth, and ushers in divine providence.

There is an urgency brewing in the “mist” of the time and air, to keep alert and vigilant. While keeping your New Years' resolutions intact, your goals in place, and performing your duties with excellence do not neglect prayerful vigilance.

Be alert and vigilant.

Matthew 26:36-41

36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” 37He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”

39Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” 40Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Too many times when we pray and often use the name of God, we begin to lose the essence and power of His Name. Like everything else we do repeatedly, if not careful you and I can become habitual creatures even when addressing heaven.

Remember, there is a law against using God’s name in vain. If you call upon the name that is above every name, we must reverence it as holy. Just like items in your home, some are meant for special occasions that you treat with high esteem, and yet others are used for common use. When calling on the name of the Lord, understand who you are calling!

There is power in His Name!

John 14:12-14

12Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father. 13And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
