There is nothing more exhilarating then setting your sail on the open waters of the horizon. When the forecast is clear and the birds are chirping, the wind is blowing, and the skies are blue - you can almost taste and smell the liberating power of the sea. She is vast, she is deep, and she is timing with life.

When entering our floating vessel we trust that all its gadgets will help us navigate safely to our desired destination. And, when we are confident that all of the moving parts are functional we haul the anchor, and take sail into the un chartered waters beyond the waves.

Just like the forefathers, and settlers of this great nation who over three hundred years ago voyaged in a journey of faith to find a land where justice would reign, and freedom would sing. We, like many of them, have taken our own sail, and have been confronted with insurmountable challenges that would test our resolve.

Today, we have been caught in the middle of a whirlpool of uncertainty. A place where the unpredictable power of a pandemic has struck at the core of our freedoms. And, a time when the currents of racial tensions are literally foaming at it’s mouth. And, like many of our ancestors whose hopes were tarnished, and whose mental strength were challenged - we to have been entrusted with this time to prove our faithful and moral fortitude.

Let us be encouraged to return and drink from the well of faith. An unlimited resource of strength that only God provides to calm our sail through the darken nights of our journey. Where the winds of change only work to help benefit the peaceful freedom of all. And, where the knowledge of His sovereignty is once again entrusted to a people who knows that only He can change the tempest, and send a steady breeze that would allow our nation to find the northern star on her moral compass again.

For we wish you all a Happy Fourth, and smooth sailing. For we are One Nation, Under God, indivisible, with liberty, and Justice for all.

Set sail!

Have you ever had something poking at you that you wish would be removed? How about a rock in your shoe, or a thorn in your side, or even a nagging voice that continually reminds you of your imperfections?

Well like many of us today, we are all wishing that somehow things can return to normal. That somehow the current situations occurring all around us is all part of a bad dream. We are praying, hoping, and even waiting for something to give - in order to see what the next step in this new normal will be. While I am hopeful that God will sustain us through every challenge, I have also learned that some things don’t always have to be perfectly modified in order for a personal change to occur.

Acknowledging your weaknesses, and limitations reveal the beauty of humanity. For sometimes you don't always have to have the answers, and be strong.  For it is said, "for God's power is made perfect in your weakness."  So, in times like these learn to lean on God so he can sustain you in His strength.  You are not alone.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

9But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

As a man of faith, it is extremely difficult to speak about a time in a person’s life when it is safe to “not believe” everything you hear. Deception is a very powerful tool which leaves the gullible extremely vulnerable, and the good-hearted pained in defeat.

From navigating through any crisis or simply making decisions on who you will partner within life - or in business. You and I must understand that is is not a matter of becoming more cynical in our thinking. But, rather understand that humanity is made up of broken vessels who may be controlled by its own deceitful desires.

In any crisis, it is increasingly important to discern correctly in order to make sound decisions that will guide you, and your extended family into safer waters.

Trust in God!

Jeremiah 17:7-10

7 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. 8 They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

9 The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? 10 “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.
